On relinquishing control, changing perceptions, and reconfiguring life — in the real world and online
Just like life, I had no control over every aspect of the images from this particular shoot I did with my puppy Flash (he's about eight months old here and he's already huge!), but the outcome was — surprisingly — beautiful. After about three hours, endless bribing (my husband was just off to the side, ready and waiting with treats), lots of giggles, and running back and forth, he eventually did what I wanted. But it turns out that my favourite images were unrehearsed, those caught-in-the-moment interactions of him leaning forward to give me a kiss or smell my hand, searching behind him for my husband and just lovingly staring into my eyes.
Through the experiences of the past few months, I've learnt to relinquish control of things I can't schedule, plan or diarise and just go with it. And although my year may have started off crazy-busy and all over the place, I'm finally excited about what's to come, including some amazing, and hopefully inspirational, content I want to share on this platform.
